The Full Story

About

Ilfracombe Netball Club was established in 2018, thanks to our wonderful Founder Lauren Teeling. Lauren had played netball all the way through her school journey and unfortunately, due to the lack of netball club in the area, she could not continue when she left full time education. With support from England Netball and the "Back to Netball" project, Ilfracombe gained a Netball Club in 2018.

The club has survived complete chaos through COVID 19, lockdown, social distancing and a temporary long term closure of the sports facility at Ilfracombe Academy. It is all thanks to our wonderful members that the club is still here today.

With that being said, we have big plans for Ilfracombe Sirens Netball Club. We want to provide netball coaching sessions to all ages. Eventually entering league teams across all ages. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a junior section and only allow ages 18 years + to come and train with us. However, this will be changing!

We currently have members of our club who are gaining qualifications through England Netball for both coaching and umpiring. We aim to provide our local community with an inclusive club where anyone can attend, enjoy playing netball, make amazing lifelong friends and stay fit whilst we do it!

Mission

Situated in a beautiful, yet remote, part of Devon, Ilfracombe Sirens Netball Club is focussed on not letting our geographic location, jeopardise our ability to play the sport we love.

We are passionate about developing our club to allow local opportunities to women and girls in our area, as well as providing sessions for men.

We are keen to develop our club into having a junior, senior, open ladies and mixed section.

Vision

To provide our local community with a netball club that welcomes everyone to enjoy netball, keep fit playing a sport they love. To have a friendly, non judgmental, safe place for everyone to enjoy the wonderful sport of netball, have a laugh, with some competition along the way.
